Community Projects
YouthNet is a remote learning program that is aimed at driving a community mission led by Youth who work towards education, environment, health and livelihood. The program is designed based on the principle of ‘Education for Education,’ where youth aged 14-25 commit to community projects and earn social credits. In turn, they gain access to courses and mentorship delivered on a digital community platform that equips them with vocational and 21st-century skills. These community projects are ongoing in 15,000+ villages across 13 states of India.
Low-Tech Resources
Access to technology is still a questionable reality in most states of India today. The rural teledensity and wireless teledensity figures indicate the economic disparity between rural and urban communities. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic further brought to light these skewed disparities. In this regard, Pratham explored low-tech resources such as SMS, Radio, TV, and Whatsapp, to ensure that content reached the children and the learning did not halt.
